Heather is a statistician with experience of supporting scientists working in drug discovery, including areas such as bioinformatics, assay development and high throughput screening. She is experienced with SAS and writing R Language applications. Alongside her scientific consultancy work,she holds an Associate Fellow position in the Statistics department at the University of Warwick, UK.
Heather’s experience of providing statistical support reaches back to her time as an Applied Statistics undergraduate at the University of Reading, UK, during which she spent a year working at the Institute of Arable Crop Research in 1998. She continued her studies at the University of Exeter, UK, completing a PhD on biclustering microarray data in 2005.
Following her PhD, Heather spent six years working as a postdoctoral researcher in the Statistics department at the University of Warwick, where she worked on developing novel statistical methodology and software, with particular application to the social sciences. She then returned to life science research, joining Pfizer as senior member of the Nonclinical Statistics group at the start of 2011. In this role, she took particular responsibility for supporting the primary pharmacology and high throughput screening groups.
